Chapter 17 – Dead Play

Jul 16th, 2008 | By PlotDog | Category: Dead Play, Serialized Novel

The note had come to Power Exchange from Sara, as she causally typed on her portable computer.  Power Exchange’s web page covered part of her large monitor.  Sara was hoping to catch more of Eddie’s activities and see if he was the type to cheat on her.  Fucking others with permission was entirely different than hunting other lovers and Sara, while open to opportunity and still on the hunt, was very possessive.  She had been imagining and wondering how far Eddie would go to please her if she gave him everything he ever wanted when Sara felt a tingle in her head.  On the web site for Power Exchange Victoria’s picture opened.  Sara stared and concentrated until it finally came to her.  A wide smile grew on her face and she said to the picture, “Hey beautiful, I know you.” The possibilities suddenly spun in her head.  She would have to adjust some short to middle term plans but this discovery would change everything.  She allowed the potential to simmer for a just a moment.  She had a date to get to and it was time to rush out the door.

Sara held onto that smile as she drove through Seattle towards her date with Eddie.  She wore an attractive but simple outfit and drove a similarly simple beige Volvo DL.  The four-door sedan was old enough to be worn but very well maintained.  She wanted to give Eddie a very specific vision on first impression.  After all, it wouldn’t do to have him see too much on the first date.  She had chosen to be the poster child for demure and couldn’t let him find about her willingness to give him what he wanted just yet.  Getting everything you want could be a shock.

For his part of the first date deception, Eddie seemed to try and appear simple in his own way; the gentleman next door and next to her sort of thing.  His new money had begun to show in his watch, shirt and shoes and Sara noticed that detail too, the same as she processed his actions.  She saw him attempt to listen, but his eyes devoured Sara.  Her blouse was slightly gaping and he tried to peek.  She noticed in the car mirror and let him.  There was nothing dangerous about letting a guy have hope.

Sara navigated the streets of the city as she considered her next moves, “I hope this wasn’t too painful.”

Eddie maintained his slightly pained persona and said, “You’ve been amazing.  I think coffee and a movie was a good way to start. It could have been harder than it was.”

She said, “It’s early,” to give him options.

Eddie apparently wanted to keep the pressure down, “I don’t want to take advantage.   Is that ok?”

Sara sensed his play, “Are you just being a gentleman?”

He tried a stab at humor, “I just want you to respect me in the morning.”

Sara closed in, “Maybe you wouldn’t respect me.”

Eddie’s eyes jittered with hope, “Are you just being a tease?”

Sara had hidden many things from him, as she knew women did with men all the time, she spoke the most honest statement she had made since cyber meeting Eddie, “I’m trying to give you what you want.  It’s what I do.”

Eddie smiled, “I guess it can’t hurt to come in.”  Sara thought that it really depended on how a person defined hurt.

  2. Ahhh…The dating game that people play.

You piqued my curiousity about Sara seeing Victoria’s face on her computer screen. I wonder if they had a history together?
