EXT. GOLF COURSE -- DAY

               Dick and Carl are on the course, drinking more than playing.

                                   DICK
                         Day 23, who knew 28 would go by so
                         fast.

                                   CARL
                         I haven't seen you at the office.
                         Have you at least seen that girl
                         you told me about?

                                   DICK
                         I bumped into her a few times at
                         the treatment center.  So, so go
                         fuck yourself.  I don't think that
                         way.  Is the company still rich?

               CARL tosses Dick another beer from the cart.  Dick pops the
               can open, it fizzes over his hand and he toasts.

                                   DICK (CONT'D)
                         To those who can't drink.  Poor
                         bastards.

               Carl tees a ball up and crushes it.

                                   CARL
                         Are you trying to tell me that you
                         never play; don't even think about
                         any other women?  What happened
                         with the bumped into chick?

                                   DICK
                         She isn't a chick.  I am not that
                         kind of guy.

                                   CARL
                         Every man has that bone in his
                         body.  Procreation of the species.

               Dick tees up a ball and it falls off the tee as he swings.

               INT. DICK AND JANE'S HOUSE -- AFTERNOON

               A "welcome home" sign hangs in the hallway of a house that is
               twice as nice as Dick's previous house.  The inside looks
               like it is maintained by a cleaning staff of obsessive
               compulsive disorder over-achievers.  Dick talks on a cell
               phone, with a headset, so both hands are free to work.

                                   DICK
                         Jesus, Carl, you have to come.  You
                         make it harder for me every time
                         you piss her off.

               Dick frantically inspects spotless places while talking.  He
               pulls a power cord to a lamp from its hiding place, cleans it
               and tucks it back into its hiding place.

                                   DICK (CONT'D)
                         Come, please, she only says she has
                         some big announcement.

               EXT. DICK AND JANE'S FRONT DOOR -- LATER

               Jane steps from the rider's side of a car.  Alex gets out of
               the driver's side.  Jane approaches and they hug.  Jane
               whispers into Alex's ear.  Alex peers past Jane at Dick.
               Smiles an odd sort of smile, hugs Jane again and leaves.

               Jane walks confidently toward Dick and gives her best "got
               ya" smile.  They hug and she leads him into the house.
