Intervention – Scene 29
Jan 17th, 2009 | By PlotDog | Category: Intervention, Serialized Screenplay DEMENTED WOMAN
You did it for your Daddy.
Alex just sits in stunned silence.
DEMENTED WOMAN (CONT'D)
See, you need to talk.
ALEX
Let's say I do. Can you keep a
secret?
DEMENTED WOMAN
I tell everything to my
cigarettes. I'll smoke em fast.
ALEX
I can't tell you some things.
Even if I wanted to.
DEMENTED WOMAN
You used to dream. A lot. I
know about the bombing. How your
Daddy made you do it for the
cause. I knew before the dream
though.
ALEX
You talk to cigarettes.
DEMENTED WOMAN
It's in your voice, the slight
Irish accent. It's in your eyes
too. They never lie. I see the
same look in my mirror.
Sometimes you have to kill, even
when you don't want to.
ALEX
You can't ever say that again.
They will find me and kill me.
DEMENTED WOMAN
I know, that's why I smoked the
pack that was in the room when
you had the dream.
ALEX
Thanks.
Alex moves closer and lights Demented's cigarette.
ALEX (CONT'D)
I don't understand why you wanted
to talk about this.
DEMENTED WOMAN
You had to trust me.
ALEX
So.....
DEMENTED WOMAN
So, you have to tell him.
ALEX
Tell him?
DEMENTED WOMAN
The bitch's husband. You have to
tell him you're in love with him.
ALEX
Jesus.
DEMENTED WOMAN
Ok, tell yourself first. Then
tell him. He needs to know. He
smokes too.
ALEX
That's just crazy.
DEMENTED WOMAN
Love is, isn't it?
The woman stands, takes out a cigarette from a fresh pack.
ALEX
Need a light?
The Demented woman counts the cigarettes.
DEMENTED WOMAN
Eighteen to go before tonight.
