EXT. STARBUCKS COFFEE SHOP -- MORNING
Dick is carrying a two year old girl on his hip like he has
been doing it a thousand years. Joy radiates from his
face, as he sweeps into the store. Everyone greets him.
SARA, his favorite person and daughter, giggles in his
arms.
BARRISTA
Hey, Mr. Mocha, how's our girl?
Sara reaches for the Barrista with her tiny hands.
SARA
Cuppa cuppa.
The barrista hands her a cup and the cash girl hands Sara a
cup too. The little sample cups have ornate carefully
drawn pictures made with the markers used for drinks.
Little flowers and Sara's name adorn the sample cups.
CASH GIRL
Who wins the Sara today, darlin'?
Sara giggles and holds both up. She carefully examines
each and picks the Cash Girl's.
SARA
You win.
BARRISTA
Where you off to today, Sweetie?
SARA
Daddy's work.
CASH GIRL
Take your daughter to work day?
DICK
Nope, just office day care.
BARRISTA
We could use that here.
Dick walks out with coffee and joy in his arms. He and
Sara murmur daddy/daughter things and experience the world
together. As they step out the energy drops in the store.
BARRISTA (CONT'D)
Lucky Dad.
CASH GIRL
Lucky Kid.
The Barrista picks up a cup and begins drawing.
BARRISTA
Tomorrow she picks my cup.
