Scene 41 – Intervention – Serial Suspense Screenplay

EXT. THE YARD PARTY -- MOMENTS LATER
Jane passes Alex and gets her attention.
JANE
I just saw Dick, he seems pissed,
did something happen?
ALEX
Not that I saw.
Jane heads for the Senator with a mile wide smile.
The glass in Dick's hand is sweating, as he spots Jane and
heads toward her and the Senator.
Alex sees Dick with storm clouds on his face and she
follows.
The Senator chats with Marcello and Catherine. Jane joins
the group.
EXT. DRIVE -- CONTINUOUS
Dick's hand is shaking so hard the remaining ice clinks.
Jane sees him and moves in closer to the Senator.
Alex spots the pending conflict and speeds up her pursuit.
EXT. YARD -- CONTINUOUS
Carl slinks out the door and clings to Susan.
EXT. DRIVEWAY -- MOMENTS LATER
Dick is a few feet away from Jane and he holds out the
glass.
DICK
Jane, what the hell?
SENATOR STEWART
Dick, good to see you. Every
time I see you, you're holding a
drink.
Dick grabs Jane's arm and pulls her away from the group.
JANE
Dick, you're hurting me.
EXT. JUST AWAY FROM THE GROUP -- CONTINUOUS
Everyone stares, as Dick drags Jane a short distance. Jane
cowers. Alex moves to intervene, but Dick storms off.
JANE
I'm fine.
Catherine's face hardens with resolve.
CATHERINE
Alan, you WILL support this
domestic violence project.
The Senator looks to Marcello.
MARCELLO
We will send you the legislation.

Yep, you’re true to your words, PlotDog. You’re not giving anything away. I’m puzzled what had upset Dick, especially that he didn’t see what Jane and Carl did in the kitchen. Unless, of course, he had a strong suspicion. Can’t wait to find out more.
