INT. LIVING ROOM WHERE THE BAR IS -- MOMENTS LATER
Dick is pouring his own first scotch and takes a hit.
JANE
Dick...honey...can you forgive
me?
DICK
You're forgiven, but I'm still a
bit disappointed about the guys
you have been boning. I feel bad
for them.
JANE
I explained, don't you believe
me?
DICK
Never again. Your lips move, you
are lying... Or just blowing
someone.
Jane sees that this strategy isn't going to buy her time.
INT. ALEX'S CAR -- MOMENTS LATER
In a traffic jam, Alex frantically dials Jane's house on
the phone; she gets the voice mail. She tries again, same
result.
INT. DICK AND JANE'S HOUSE - THE BAR -- MOMENTS LATER
Jane walks to the bar and sits by Dick casually.
JANE
So, what now?
DICK
I get the house and Sara. You
get some alimony and unlike you,
maybe I don't fuck the Senator
over.
JANE
There must be something we can
do.
DICK
You pick, divorce or divorce.
JANE
How about if I give you equal
power; we have one child that
makes you happy; we could...have
another.
DICK
You don't want to fix us, you
want a way out.
Jane sees Dick's certainty in the mirror.
JANE
At least you are finally drinking
like a man.
Dick takes one more drink, his hand shutters and he slams
the glass on the bar. The Shards cut his hand.
DICK
You ARE your mother, aren't you?
Jane is emotionally wounded until she sees the blood. She
takes Dick's hand and the blood rubs off on her. Jane
kisses his hand and erotically rubs the wound against her
cheek.
Her hand lashes out and slaps Dick viciously across his
cheek.
Dick recoils. Jane chases and slaps him again.
JANE
Why couldn't you do it the easy
way?
DICK
What the hell are you doing?
Jane rains blows on Dick. He fends her off, as much as he
can. She never really connects, but he is losing patience.
DICK (CONT'D)
Stop it, or I'll call the police.
JANE
Do it, bitch. Don't be such a
pussy. DO IT!
Dick picks up the phone. She watches, breathing heavy. He
dials each number slowly. The phone rings. Jane grabs the
phone and throws it against the wall.
JANE (CONT'D)
Now, that gives me a better idea.
Jane runs to the display case and pulls out Dick's prized
autographed baseball bat. She swings it at a glass
cabinet. The glass explodes. Dick's reflection fractures
too.
Jane reaches into the cabinet and pulls out a huge shard of
glass. Staring at Dick, she slowly, deeply cuts her arm.
He is transfixed. She takes the glass shard and holds it
like a knife. She tries to stab him. In an instant,
Dick's hand flashes up and grabs her wrist. Enraged, he
lifts Jane up and her feet dangle. She struggles, but he
holds her in the air.
DICK
Let go now!
JANE
NO!
DICK
I swear to God, you drop it or
I'll break your wrist.
He starts to twist her arm and her face contorts in pain.
For a moment, they are both just flat out surprised.
DICK (CONT'D)
Drop it, now.
Jane refuses and Dick slaps her face with his other hand.
The glass drops to the floor and shatters.
Jane looks at her face in the wall mirror and sees the welt
and slap marks. Her eyes light up with twisted joy.
JANE
Now, THAT turns me on.
She looks coldly into Dick's eyes, calculates for a second,
and then puts on a perfect victim face and cries.
JANE (CONT'D)
Oh Dick, how could you beat me?
Jane picks up a portable phone and speed dials 911.
OPERATOR
What is your emergency?
JANE
Help. Oh God, Dick, NO, please
don't kill me. Please don't hurt
me more, OH GOD, Dick, don't hurt
the baby.

Yep, Jane had it all planned–just the way she wanted. She’ll play the role of that abused spouse like she was going for her Oscar Award. I bet you that the police will all be so sympathetic to he, Dick is going to jail.
Oh, you wrote this one so wonderfully, you got me all riled up about her. Keep it coming because I want to know how it ends. Sorry, I’m so impatient.
