               INT. DICK AND JANE'S HOUSE - STAIRS -- MOMENTS LATER

               Jane runs upstairs, with the phone in hand.

               OPERATOR

               Please state the nature of your emergency.

                                   JANE
                         Stop hurting us.

               INT. DICK AND JANE'S HOUSE - UPSTAIRS HALL -- MOMENTS LATER

               Jane steps into the bedroom doorway.  She swings the door
               and slams it on her bicep.  She screams by the phone,
               winces, adjusts her arm and swings the door open again.

               In the background, Sara's door begins to open.

               SLAM...Jane crushes her arm in the door once again... She
               screams and still, she opens the door once again.

               Sara's door opens fully.

               Sara stares.  Dick's eyes meet Sara's.

               Momentary doubt clouds Jane's face, but in the end, JUST
               PLAIN NUTS wins and she SLAMS the door yet again.

               Sara screams.  Dick races for Sara and pushes Jane away
               from the door.  Jane falls in the broken glass and gets
               more lacerations.  Dick grabs Sara, who is screaming; Jane
               cradles the phone.  Dick cradles Sara.

                                   DICK
                         Are you crazy?

                                   JANE
                         Sara, hide in your room.

                                   SARA
                         Daddy, how did mommy get so hurt?

                                   DICK
                         Mommy is having a problem, you
                         know I wouldn't hurt you.  Right
                         Baby?

                                   SARA
                         Never daddy, you love me.  I
                         know.

               EXT. DICK AND JANE'S FRONT DOOR -- MOMENTS LATER

               The screaming has stopped, blue and red lights strobe
               through the window.  The cops are outside the house door,
               knocking.

               INT. DICK AND JANE'S FRONT HALL -- MOMENTS LATER

               OPERATOR

               The police are on the way.

                                   JANE
                         HELP.  He hit me with a bat, he's
                         hurting me, my little girl, he
                         has Sara....help!

                                   COPS OUTSIDE
                         Ma'am, is he still armed?

               EXT. DICK AND JANE'S HOUSE - COP'S RADIO -- MOMENTS LATER

               The cop pounds the door; cop cars pull up, lights spinning.

               Jane trashes the place, breaks glass and, in a psychotic
               glee, destroys everything hurting herself even more.

               Dick holds Sara and tries to cover her eyes.

                                   SARA
                         Daddy, is mommy OK?

                                   JANE
                         He's going to kill me and the
                         baby!

               EXT. DICK AND JANE'S FRONT DOOR -- MOMENTS LATER

               The woman cop breaks the glass window by the door.  Jane's
               screams combine with the sirens and police radios.  Chaos.

               INT. DICK AND JANE'S HOUSE - UPSTAIRS -- MOMENTS LATER

               Dick enfolds Sara, the door crashes open, cops rush in

               P.O.V. FEMALE COP -- MOMENTS LATER

               Blue and red lights into the house.  Jane drags herself
               into the upstairs hallway, bloody, beaten and screaming.

               The male cop stops at Jane.  Her clothes expose her in a
               victim sort of way; blood is on her face and arms.
