Solid hits make their bones rattle
As Warriors wage a modern battle
Defensive struggles are the best
As teams confront a brutal test
A solid body slams into him like a speeding car
An impossible throw is caught by a rising star
The ball snaps and flies to the quarterback’s keep,
Pass, catch, run for the yards, TOUCHDOWN, time for a Lambeau Leap!

cool nights extending
farmers harvest summer’s fruit
lazy fun days end
bringing out colors
another season coming
endless summer wishes
Winter shadows dancing
in fading summer sunlight
young days, aging nights
Sweet scents fade in breeze.

The Face of Death, the new thriller by Cody McFadyen is my first foray into the writing style of this author but it won’t be my last.
The Face of Death mines the popular and fertile fiction ground of the unique serial killer.

Plotdog Press is jealous and envious to be a stop on Cody McFadyen’s, The Face of Death book tour, brought to you by PUMP UP YOUR BOOK PROMOTION VIRTUAL BOOK TOURS.
This might be a good time for you to ask why jealous and envious? I am not an easy reader to get to try a new author, but when I am out of my favorites I will read into a new author just to see what might be out there. As a reader I tend towards thrillers and suspense so my eyes usually head right for those novels on the shelves or tables. While I see myself as a writer after my book and screenplays, I am more than ever a fan of authors. I hope that never changes. When I wander into my favorite book stores, I literally stroll, allowing my eyes to catch covers and titles that strike me as interesting.

Stars apparent shining dark skies
cloaked secrets in midnight blue
mysterious shadows like venomous illusions
thick shadows folding lucid dreams
million cricket chirps, stillborn stars
the serenely silent sanctuary beckons
Succulent kisses, mysterious smudged eyes.
tangled hair entwines enfolding arms
sleepy abyss of confounding dreams
silent, unwieldy, deep shadows night
distraught nightmares child snuggly daddy
dark world disappears peaceful rest

Being the youngest member of my family I remember being a kid, thinking, the older kids in school must know all the answers. Once I got into school, it was the high school kids, then the college age kids, and when I was in college, it felt like the diploma must come with some magic tome that would explain the real world. It didn’t come in the diploma or even during the discussions I had with friends in the same situation. Now, that magic tome is here.

While PlotDog Press tends to focus on fiction, we enjoy and support both fiction and non-fiction writing. Each type of writing has it own challenges, rewards and readership. One of the difficult things to writing non-fiction is finding an area of specialization where your market is in need of your expertise and where your experience is representative of the problems that readers will need answered. Author Hal W. Lanse is a writer who fits the definition of finding a significant problem and coming forward with innovative information that will assist parents and children at literacy risk.

Today and Tomorrow it is to the beach I go.
to walk along amongst sea creatures
On the beach to dance around
Cling to the past sandy trails.
Below in to you the sun fall.
Ever brisk as a breeze to my face.
Always there to sea and shore.
Halcyon days to clam the ocean.
Torrid asphalt no gas to beach
To stare at futility across water, Tokyo-3

This blog is pleased to be part of the virtual book tour of Jim Musgrave’s compilation of short stories, “The President’s Parasite.” What follows is an interview I did and an excerpt from the short story with the same title as the book.
As a “pending emerging author” and pretty much a new blogger, I felt [...]

MY FUNNY DAD, HARRY
FOREWORD
I have so many funny memories of things my dad, Harrington Arlettaz (Harry), did that I decided to write this book in his memory as a tribute to him. This book is not only about my dad, but also about me, life and aging and how we deal with it. I kept [...]
